Valérie Courrèges
Provence, France
Having honed her skills as the head winemaker of Château Fontainebleau in Provence for almost a decade, Valérie was eager to bring her expertise to Cahors, but she couldn’t leave behind the region that had become her home. As a result, she decided to purchase a few hectares of vines in the hills near the town of Cotignac and make wines under her own label.
Valérie’s winemaking philosophy centers on preserving the natural expression of the grape with minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to shine through in each wine. She works with single vineyards, carefully selecting grapes from each site that are perfectly ripe and healthy.
In her vineyards, Valérie prioritizes sustainable and organic farming practices, paying close attention to the health of the soil and the vines. She believes that a healthy vineyard produces the best grapes, and she works tirelessly to ensure that her vines are in top condition.
With her own label, Valérie has the freedom to experiment and express herself creatively, while staying true to her core values of sustainability, authenticity, and minimal intervention. Her wines from Provence are a testament to her dedication to preserving the natural expression of the grape and the terroir, and her wines from Cahors promise to be no less impressive.
